About
Jaco Beach · Costa Rica
------------------------------------------------------------------
Jaco Beach is the closest beach town to San Jose, Costa
Rica’s Capital. It is a beautiful scenic drive through
the lush tropical flora, rolling mountains and coffee
plantations from San Jose to Jaco. Tourists, residents
and travelers all migrate to Jaco Beach's hotels and resorts
to enjoy this lively three mile long beach community where
you can try your luck at surfing, water sports, fishing
and Jaco's incredible nightlife.
Jaco Beach is considered one of the most developed coastal
towns in Costa Rica. The main street is where many of
the bars and restaurants are located. Food for every taste
and budget can be found in the many bistros numbering
in excess of 100 situated in and around Jaco's downtown
area. A major point of attraction of Jaco is the Carara
Biological Reserve, a protected area made up of dry forest
and rainforest, where you can observe the many varied
species of flora and fauna, crocodile and turtle farms
with easy access to nature walks, tours and adventures.
Activities to do in Jaco are abundant, which is an important
reason why Jaco tourism is well known both inside and
outside our country. During the day you can enjoy the
beach, deep sea fishing or golf at Los Suenos and surrounding
area clubs, coupled with the wide range of tours, activities,
national parks and reserves located nearby. At night,
the numerous clubs are open for dancing, dining and 24
hour fun.
There are about ten side streets that come up from the
beach to intersect the main street that runs along the
length of the beach. Surfers, sunbathers and swimmers
all find their tastes and skill levels met at Jaco Beach.
Jaco beach is the perfect location to launch day trips
to explore Costa Rica's beautiful beaches, canopy and
wildlife tours, surfing, golfing, fishing and all sorts
of outdoor activity.
The Jaco Beach area is a surfer's paradise as the constant
year round waves attract the best in the world.. Better
watch out when the yearly surf tournaments come along,
the town goes crazy, and “people watching”
is almost as popular as the competitions. There are many
types and an increasing variety of shopping in Jaco for
all to enjoy. Many North American tourists that have visited
the country on a surfing or fishing trip have decided
to stay and call Costa Rica their home.
Be careful, one visit and you may never go home! |
